More cosmetic manufacturers are adding alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) to their skin care product lines. AHAs have been proven effective in exfoliating dead skin cells, thereby giving the skin a younger and smoother appearance. However, the FDA has been investigating the adverse effects of AHAs based on some consumer complaints.
