The maverick: Dina Dwyer-Owens

Dina Dwyer-Owens is recognized by Working Mother with a Raising a Ruckus Award. The mother of two is the CEO of the Dwyer Group, a company specializing in plumbing, electrical work, and home improvement services. She helped to establish the Women in Trades program at Texas State Technical College to get more women into the plumbing field.

The reinventor: Apryll Adams

The mother of three was able to reinvent her life after leaving her abusive husband and winding up in a women's shelter in Philadelphia. She now works at Fleet Credit Card Services and is working towards a master's degree in journalism at Temple Univeristy.
