The news about fat and breast cancer may be wrong; there is still persuasive evidence that a high-fat diet is risky

Article Abstract:

An eight-year study that indicates that low-fat, high-fiber diets may not protect women against breast cancer may be inconclusive. The results of the study, led by Walter C. Willet and reported in the New York Times, may be misleading because the subjects did not consume a diet that was truly low in fat.

Ultrasound meets the breast

Article Abstract:

The FDA has approved the use of ultrasound imaging in detecting and distinguishing benign from malignant breast lumps. Ultrasound exams, which cost from $75 to $300, are much cheaper and safer than the core needle or surgical biopsies that women have so far believed to be the sole solution.
