The nicotine patch: is it right for you?

Article Abstract:

Smokers who wish to break the smoking habit can ask their doctors to give them a prescription of nicotine patch. The patch is a tiny, 24-hour adhesive bandage that is attached anywhere on the upper body and provides nicotine through the skin into the bloodstream. Using nicotine patch simultaneous with attending counselling session is the most effective way to quit smoking. However, using the patch may pose health hazards such as nicotine poisoning and in extreme cases, death.
