Nighttime is usually an unstructured time and a time to relax, and for many people it can also become a time to relax good eating standards. There can be many reasons for this, including stress, carbohydrate and fat cravings, and low blood sugar. A sensible menu and eating strategies are discussed.

Bottled ice teas have become a multi-billion-dollar industry in the US, ranking third behind soft drinks and beer among all beverage sales. The teas are available in many flavors: fruity, sweetened, exotic and plain. Despite their popularity, the teas do not contain much nutritional value.

The obesity epidemic

Thirty-three percent of all adults are obese in 1996, compared to 25% in the 1980s. The increasing availability of convenience foods and a decline in physical activity have contributed to the increase in obesity. People who exercise regularly tend to eat less, eliminating the need to diet.
