Their religion, your rights: if your hospital merges with a Catholic hospital, you may be denied basic health services

Article Abstract:

Women with health care insurance are advised to be wary of any changes within their health care providers. Some nonsectarian hospitals and managed-care plans that are in dire financial straits have opted to merge with Catholic-owned health care groups, resulting in the former's elimination of at least some reproductive services, including abortion, contraception and vasectomy.

Milestones of aging: positive approaches to common problems

Children of aging parents would do well to remember several pointers in helping their elders cope positively with common problems of aging. These include making the house safer to avoid repeated falls, finding new activities and offering help with their financial and living arrangements.
