Baby blues is a temporary mild postpartum distress experienced by mothers that occurs between two days and two weeks after child delivery. It is a phenomenon characterized by impatience, oversensitivity, lack of feeling towards the baby and unexplained crying, among other symptoms.

Article Abstract:

New mothers experience various emotions after child birth. One is postpartum blues or depression which occur in 50 to 80% of women which is most likely caused by the drop in estrogen and progesterone after childbirth. Lack of sleep may also cause irritability.
