Thyroid disease and pregnancy
Article Abstract:
Pregnancy doubles a woman's risk of thyroid problems, and pregnant women with certain symptoms should get checked for thyroid problems. If left untreated, thyroid problems can lead to premature birth, low birth weight and miscarriage. Two types of problems and symptoms are discussed.

Pregnancy gingivitis

Women who have gingivitis may find their condition worsening when they become pregnant due to an increase in hormone levels. The symptoms of gingivitis, or early gum disease, include bleeding, redness or swelling of the gums.
