Cities across America are struggling with health-threatening levels of pollutants, like bacteria, chemicals and lead, which is enough to make anyone think before drinking water. The hazardous effects of drinking contaminated water and the ways to protecting the tap water before drinking are discussed.

How clean are our cities?
Article Abstract:
A survey of 25 cities in Canada identified the cities which have problems on air and water quality. It also identified St. John's and Calgary as the cities with the best air and surface water quality, respectively. However, Saskatoon has the highest overall grade.

When water's too clean
Article Abstract:
Impure water can be a threat to one's health. Research shows that tap water purified through a purification unit can be bereft of some important minerals, lead to a variety of health problems. Water must thus be purified with care.
