Guided imagery is now a popular form of relaxation therapy in the US. By helping patients lower their anxiety levels and maintain a sense of control over their illness, guided imagery has been known to help cancer patients feel better and may even be helpful for irritable bowel syndrome, migraines, anxiety and insomnia. However, the therapy cannot be used in lieu of traditional medicine as it is not curative.

There are several traditional and alternative techniques for curing sinus infections, the leading health problem during winter. Traditional treatments include decongestants and antihistamines, while alternative approaches include plenty of rest and fluid intake, as well as steam inhalation.

The use of alternative therapy in the treatment of cancer is increasing despite debate among officials and leaders in the health care industry. Carol Lopez of Odessa, FL, is one of the patients who resorted to alternative therapy. Eight options for alternative treatments are discussed.
