WHY JANEY CAN'T RUN

Article Abstract:

Physical education (PE) classes in the US may be a thing of the past as budgets and facilities are ravaged. Children are fatter and have less endurance and strength than they were 15 years ago, and they are the most sedentary generation in our history. Sedentary children become sedentary adults, putting the whole generation at risk for coronary heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Parents can help by being active themselves, setting a good example and encouraging kids to get away from the TV and the computer.
