Article Abstract:

The Supreme Court of Canada's decision to include gay and lesbian couples as parents with spousal obligations was not brought about by considerations of equality but cost-cutting. Justice Frank Iacobucci wrote that the court's decision was spurred by the need to ease the burden on public funds.

Article Abstract:

The claims made by a scientific study that child sexual abuse has no harmful effects on children is flawed. The inaccuracy of its conclusion stems from the study's sample of college students who have yet to see and feel the impact of sexual abuse on their lives.
