Taking care of fussy babies can be a tiring experience. Experts, however, suggest that parents of high-need babies should welcome the challenge of soothing these highly sensitive infants. Tips on how to do this are given, together with advice on how to recognize the problems of high-need babies.

A tender touch

Infant massage must be applied to the less sensitive parts of the body, such as the legs, chest, foot, arms and hands, and should be administered within 10-15 minutes only. This helps improve a child's blood circulation, digestive system, muscle tone and neurological development.

The gift of touch

Infant massage can be good for a baby's general health and can help parents understand their baby's reactions better. The massage is not deep, but done lightly on the surface. Techniques to massage a baby's legs, feet, arms, hands, chest, stomach, face and head are presented.
