What ergonomics can do for you
Article Abstract:
Ergonomics is a workplace term that was first coined in Poland in the 1860s. Literally meaning 'laws of work,' ergonomics ensures that an employee's physical tasks match his human characteristics to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and repetitive stress syndrome. In the workplace, this calls for ensuring that one's workstation allows one to work comfortably. The workstation must also include a comfortable chair and an ergonomically designed keyboard. To help muscles from getting stiff, it would also help for an employee to take short breaks and perform stretching exercises.
