Article Abstract:
Recent medical innovations have made 'death by natural causes' an outmoded concept in the medical practice. This has given rise to two new categories or types of death, namely, intrinsic and extrinsic mortality. While the former pertains to all deaths from genetic diseases, the latter refers to deaths caused by factors that arise outside the body, such as infectious diseases, homicide, suicide or predation.
