* THIS IS TO BE EDITED ===GIVE FEED BACK TO KPS==== Evolutionary fixation of RNA editing
Article Abstract:
A secondary mutation in the tRNA for glycine has caused the editing of tRNA for aspertate to become fixed.During evolution, a primitive T to C mutation in the anticodon of tRNA gene for aspertate and subsequent editing of it by activities involved in the deamination reaction made it a tRNA for glycine with anticodon UCC. This can decode only two glycine codons not decoded by the unedited form of the tRNA with anticodon GCC. This course when fixed could not be reversed by back mutations as such mutations would be lethal as it leave two out of four codons for glycine without a decoding tRNA.

Neolithic genetic engineering
Article Abstract:
Research into the genes that were selected during the domestication of maize from teosinte in middle America around 7,500 years ago has recently focused on a gene named teosinte branched1 (tb1), encoded by one of the five genetic regions responsible for the main morphological differences between maize and teosinte. Researchers have looked in particular at the impact of domestication on variation in this gene. A large portion of tb1 was sequenced, and it was established that there was no significant reduction in variation in the part of the gene that codes for tb1 protein.
