Age and the unisexual lineage
Article Abstract:
Unisexual or parthenogenetic fish and amphibia have very different mitochondrial and nuclear genome components from the sexually reproducing members of the same genus. Three research groups investigated the unisexual species' genomes and the evolutionary longevity of their clones. Although there are no entirely unisexual fish or amphibia, some do have all-female populations that can produce eggs only after stimulation by males. The new research does not threaten the view that clones are of short duration in terms of evolution.

Cloning of mice to six generations
Article Abstract:
Issues are presented concerning the cloning of mice by nuclear transfer into enucleated oocytes for six and four generations within two independent lines. The ageing of these generations is discussed.
