Arizona professor files lawsuit after being fired for misconduct

Article Abstract:

A university professor, who has been fired for scientific misconduct, has filed a lawsuit against the Arizona Board of Regents and is being supported by an Internet campaign to raise funding for legal costs. Marguerite M.B. Kay, a specialist in Alzheimer's disease, was fired by the University of Arizona for misrepresenting data in three published studies and for using poor research techniques. Kay says the errors are accidental and is attempting to reverse the university's action.

Fertility pioneers face 'misconduct' charges

Article Abstract:

Internationally acclaimed fertility specialists at the University of California, Irvine, are under investigation for alleged scientific and financial misconduct. The charges include that these physicians performed research without the consent of patients, used human oocytes for research without consent and imported and administered an illegal drug to women patients to stimulate the production of eggs. World-renowned physicians Ricardo H. Asch and Jose P. Balmaceda are involved.

Anthropologists in turmoil over allegations of misconduct

Journalist Patrick Tierney has defended his book, entitled 'Darkness in El Dorado: How Scientists and Journalists Devastated the Amazon', a defence of Venezuela's Yanomami tribe, from critics at the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association. Members of the association say the book is full of untruths.
