Biodegradation of oil in uplifted basins prevented by deep-burial sterilization
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the sterilization of petroleum reservoirs which originated from hotter, deeper regions of the Earth to result in non-biodegradable oil. The colonization of oil by hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria is discussed.
