Bioterror tester kits trouble federal agencies

Article Abstract:

The latest program developed by the US department of homeland security deals with the evaluation of hand held kits used by emergency workers in order to test for biological hazards in times of terrorism. However, this program had negative feedback from emergency workers who claimed that the government advice is not practical and that they knew how to handle and control their kits.

Aid agencies predict victory for HIV unless cash crisis is solved

Article Abstract:

Global spending is growing on AIDS in developing countries is reported by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS. Large donor nations still prefer to invest in their own bilateral AIDS programme and the global fund is struggling to meet its income targets while the United States is the largest donor for AIDS prevention and treatment.

HIV trial doomed by design, say critics

The trial of microbicide gel containing the antiretroviral drug tenofovir tested for the prevention of women from HIV during sex, has failed in efficiency trials, requiring a revamp in approach to clinical trials.
