Cell tracing shows the contribution of the yolk sac to adult haematopoiesis

Article Abstract:

A non-invasive pulse-labelling system is designed based on Cre/loxP recombination to trace contribution of the yolk sac to adult haematopoiesis. It is observed virtually no contribution of the labeled cells towards the yolk sac vasculature indicating early segregation of endothelial and haematopoietic lineages.
