Changes in retinal cell fate induced by overexpression of EGF receptor

Article Abstract:

Changes in the quantity of the Epidermal growth factor receptors affects the responsiveness of retinal progenitor cells. This was revealed by studying the effects of introducing excess epidermal growth factor-Rs with a retrovirus in vertebrate retinas. The ratio of clones containing Muller glial cells increased due to the introduction of extra epidermal growth factor-Rs.

Reprogramming of human somatic cells to pluripotency with defined factors

Article Abstract:

A new approach for the reprogramming of human somatic cells to induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells with defined transcription factors is discussed. These iPS cells are found to be very similar to the embryonic cells in morphology and gene expression.
