Computational roles for dopamine in behavioural control
Article Abstract:
Neurons have a central role in guiding our behaviour and thoughts, every addictive drug hijacks them; they malfunction in mental illness; and they lost in dramatically impairing illness such as Parkinson's disease. Dopamine function is also central to the way that we value our world, including the way that we value money and other human beings.

A role for lateral hypothalamic orexin neurons in reward seeking
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to show that activation of lateral hypothalamus orexin neurons is strongly linked to preferences for cues associated with drug and food reward. It is shown that chemical activation of lateral hypothalamus orexin neurons reinstates an extinguished drug-seeking behavior.

Decision amid uncertainty
Article Abstract:
A sophisticated model of how neuromodulatory systems are central to the trade-off decision is derived with the use of simple principles from Bayesian probability theory. The model allows making detailed quantitative and counterintuitive function and its influence on behavior.
