Conserved modes of recruitment of ATM, ATR and DNA-PKcs to sites of DNA damage

Article Abstract:

A conserved region in the C terminus of Nbs1that serves to recruit activated Ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM) to sites of DNA damage is described, thus promoting the phosphorylation of ATM targets and ensuing events of the DNA damage response. The findings revealed that recruitment of the PIKKs to DNA lesions occurs by common mechanisms through an evolutionary conserved motiff, and provide direct evidence that PIKK recruitment is required for PIKK-dependent DNA-damage signaling.

Accumulation of cyclin B1 requires E2F and cyclin-A-dependent rearrangement of the anaphase-promoting complex

Article Abstract:

The repression of E2F activity results in the cyclin B1 being destroyed via the reassembly of anaphase-promoting complex, which is vital for mitotic cyclin proteolysis. There is new role for E2F, as it seems that it has to carry on being active during S phase.

Human CtlP promotes DNA end resection

Article Abstract:

The article provides insight into evolutionarily conserved roles of human CtlP proteins. The CtlP plays important role in controlling DNA double-strand break (DSB) resection, checkpoint signalling and homologous recombination.
