Could women take a lead over men in the long run?
Article Abstract:
Women's potential to outperform men in ultra-endurance sporting events, such as marathons, is no longer inconceivable. Such claims, based on improved performance and changing notions regarding women's physiological capacities, have been supported by scientific backing. Studies of gender based differences in performance point to a definite link between glycogen and lipid metabolism. Despite their relatively weaker physiological capacities, women possess a natural ability for endurance sports as they are endowed with a high proportion of body fat.

How economists see the environment: Economists and ecologists misunderstand each other about the environment. Improving interdisciplinary communication should enable natural scientists to take economic analysis and prescriptions more seriously
Article Abstract:
Communication between those from different disciplines in the natural and social sciences is both important and difficult on topics such as the environment. There are certain myths about how economists view the environment, and one is that economists believe that the market solves all problems. The second is that economists always recommend market solutions to market problems. However economists do not necessarily believe that the market can solve all problems.

Propeller molecules take off
Article Abstract:
High second-order responses which are essential parameters for optoelectronic materials can be enhanced by the absence of dipole moment. The optoelectronic materials find wide applications in nonlinear optical devices. The responses were conventionally associated with the dipole moment which also influenced the field-induced polarization.
