DNA electrophoresis in microlithographic arrays

Article Abstract:

Optical microlithography can accomplish the electrophoresis and length fractionization of large arrays of DNA molecules. The new technique, with its low dimensionality, small volume and highly reproducible topography, will enable researchers to investigate the motion and fractionization of large polymer molecules in complex but well-ordered topologies. Epifluorescence microscopy was used to verify the new technique's success in the form of fabricating capped quasi-two-dimensional obstacle courses in SiO2.

Microarrays of cells expressing defined cDNAs

Article Abstract:

The development of a microarray-driven gene expression system for large-scale analysis of gene products is described. The system could be used as an expression cloning system or in place of protein microarrays when identifying drug targets.

Hypermutation of multiple proto-oncogenes in B-cell diffuse large-cell lymphomas

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the promotion of tumorigenesis through genomic instability. The physiological cause of genomic instability in which a hypermutation activity is shown to target multiple loci is discussed.
