Dangers of moving cows

Article Abstract:

The most comprehensive analysis of the role of cattle movements in the epidemiological of bovine tuberculosis (BTB) is provided. The results revealed that the geographical distribution of BTB is most closely associated with the number of latest cattle imports from infected areas using a statistical technique known as multiple logistic regressions.

Optimal reactive vaccination strategies for a foot-and-mouth outbreak in the UK

Article Abstract:

Optimal vaccination strategies for foot-and-mouth disease spread in cattle in the UK are discussed. This strategy maintains the balance between local controls of outbreaks while rapidly targeting new foci of infection.
