The implications of cloning on animal welfare include violation of the animal's place in nature's evolutionary scheme. Cloning an animal violates the safeguards developed evolutionarily in breeding and may cause the gene pool of the cloned animal species to deteriorate.

Animal troubles in Taiwan
Article Abstract:
Taiwan is deluged with several animal abuse issues. The Life Conservationist Assn. is working to end Taiwan's animal cruelty. This includes the unregulated practices of Taiwan's companion animal trade, inhumane treatment of stray dogs and improper slaughter methods.
