Do cuttlefish (Cephalopoda) signal their intentions to conspecifics during agonistic encounters?
Article Abstract:
Male cuttlefish (Cephalopoda) may use the Intense Zebra Display behavior to signal its male identity to the opponent and/or as a agonistic behavioral strategy which may be evolutionarily stable. Male cuttlefish's face darkens in an agonistic encounter, irrespective of its physical preparedness for an encounter. Similarly, those that withdraw from the encounter also maintain a slight darkness on the face, suggesting that they want to be identified as males so as to escape from unwanted copulations from other males.

Squid egg mops provide sensory cues for increased agonistic behaviour between male squid
Article Abstract:
The findings of four laboratory experiments conducted to determine whether males use sensory cues provided by egg mops to regulate agonistic behavior are presented. For these experiments the agonistic responses of pairs of adult males were measured before, during and after exposure to conspecific egg mops and also these egg mops were manipulated to provide differing sensory stimuli (tactile, water-borne, visual).

How should behavioral ecologists interpret measurements of immunity?
Article Abstract:
The problems in interpreting the results of immune assays and their implications for behavioral ecologists are discussed. The behavioral ecologists should use multiple immune tests, increase their reliance on direct tests of resistance and explore possible alternative explanations for their data until immunologists resolve the issue of how to measure overall disease resistance.
