Economically destructive fires and biodiversity conservation: an Australian perspective

Article Abstract:

The importance of understanding natural fire regimes is discussed as they provide useful guidelines for future management of biodiversity. It is suggested that to find whether the treated area is a strategic grip or a broad landscape unit is one of the solution to the problems posed by socially and economically disastrous fires.

Benefits of Conservation of Plant Genetic Diversity to Arthropod Diversity

Article Abstract:

Habitat genetics are shown to be a key conservation concept using naturally hybridizing North American cottonwoods and their arthropod communities as an example. Diversities are correlated with cross types of cottonwood from local to regional scales.
