Rubisco without the Calvin cycle improves the carbon efficiency of developing green seeds

Article Abstract:

The study shows that in the development of embryos of Brassica napus L., Rubisco acts without the Calvin cycle to increase the efficiency of carbon use during the formation of oil. It concluded that Rubisco operates as part of an undescribed metabolic route between carbohydrates and oil.

Radiographic imaging with cosmic-ray muons

Article Abstract:

Natural background muons that are generated by cosmic rays and are highly penetrating could be used to detect concealed nuclear materials. Describes the new technique and simulation code, accompanied by a diagram.
