Google makes data free for all

Google Base launched by Google allows anyone to upload files for free to its massive server farms, making the data instantly searchable and scientists feel that this facility can have important implications for data-sharing in science. Google takes a step further into flexible online storage of arbitrary data, including scientific data, which is a major area of research.
