How to find, identify and quantitate the sugars on proteins

Article Abstract:

A method for full protein structure determination was developed based on glycosylation site identification via the GlycoSite cartridge. The Glycosite cartridge is a screw cap assembly composed of teflon pieces for the glycopeptide. The cartridge can be utilized for labelling sugars in the protein structure with a sensitive ultra-violet absorbing chromophore. Furthermore, the accurate quantification of the glycosylated amino acid from the cartridge can be accurately quantified with the phenylthiohydantoin-amino acid.

Partial activation of CD8+ T cells by a self-derived peptide

Article Abstract:

Partial activation of CD8+ T cells occurs due to structural homologues of immunogenic peptide and similar self-derived peptides. A peptide obtained from the germline of an immunoglobulin heavy-chain variable region (IgVH) activates a clone of Kd-restricted CD8+ lymphocytes, to kill by the CD95-CD95L route. The results of a study on the role of the peptides in lymphocyte activation are given.
