Human BSE
Article Abstract:
Two research projects have produced very strong evidence that a distinct variant of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) is caused by the same strain of agent that has been responsible for the epidemic of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in the UK. It is believed that aberrant protein agents are behind both forms of CJD, as well as other types of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies. These agents in turn prompt the pathological modification of host-encoded prion proteins.

"Mont cotoyant le Fleuve et la Cite": Sceve, Lyons, and love
Article Abstract:
Maurice Sceve's descriptions of Lyons, particularly of its two mountains and river, in his love poem 'Delie' have a sacralizing function. Through Lyons and love, the poet-reader could become blessed. Descriptions of Lyons are also attempts to make the abstract concept of love more attainable. Sceve's contemporaries viewed his poetic output to be inextricably bound to Lyons.
