Immune recognition of a human renal cancer antigen through post-translational protein splicing

Article Abstract:

The occurrence and the use of protein splicing are presented. The occurrence of protein splicing in vertebrates has vital implication for the complexity of the vertebrate preteome and for the immune recognition of self and foreign peptides.

Protein surgery

Article Abstract:

Studies on human tumours and the immune system have revealed that cells can manufacture entirely new sets of peptides from the original protein, through protein surgery. This finding has implications for both proteomics and immunity.

Kip moving

Article Abstract:

The tumor-suppressor protein p27kip1 leads to deregulated cell proliferation and thus helps to prevent tumors. This protein also controls stages of cancer development as it regulates cell migration.
