Is the Endangered Species Act endangered?
Article Abstract:
Intensive lobbying by loggers, real estate developers and energy companies against the Endangered Species Act (ESA) may weaken America's most significant wildlife protection law to date. The ESA expires on Sep 30, 1992 and it is highly unlikely that amendments to the law will be considered for the restof the year, with 1992 being an election year.

CITES doublecross
Article Abstract:
The US delegation to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species did not oppose the Zimbabwean and South African proposals to lift the ban on trophy hunting of African leopards, white rhinos and black rhinos. This inspite of a previously agreed American position to say no, as reflected in the Federal Register.
