Landscape correlates along mourning dove call-count routes in Mississippi

Article Abstract:

Mourning dove call-count survey was conducted in Mississippi along dove routes in order to evaluate the relationship between dove abundance and habitat. A positive relation was found between agricultural lands and dove abundance, while relation between dove abundance and edge density was negative and the decline in population mourning dove in Mississippi could be attributed to conversion of agricultural lands to pine plantations.
