Life on the moon

Article Abstract:

The article describes the topical features, climate and inhabitants of the Moon Plain, a region in South Australia. Although its environment appears hostile to life, with its hard clay soils and scant rainfall, it is home to a wide variety of animal species. These include lizards, granivorous birds, mice and other small mammals, and snakes.

Sea kraits of Vanuatu

Article Abstract:

The author describes his experiences studying the sea kraits of Vanuatu, an archipelago of islands in the South Pacific. He describes the behavior of the sea snakes, the research efforts of his team and their success in educating natives of Vanuatu to preserve the dwindling species.

Not too flashy

Article Abstract:

The Bowerbirds builds a decorative bower to attract the interest of females and if the bower is too flashy the rival male destroy it. The trade-off that it supports a fine line between magnificence and modesty is studied.
