Long-term gene silencing by RNAi
Article Abstract:
The heritability of gene silencing by RNAi over many generations in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) was investigated and an RNAi screen was used to identify genes that may influence this inheritance. It was shown that a single episode of RNAi in C. elegans can induce transcriptional silencing effects that are inherited indefinitely in the absence of the original trigger.

A microRNA controlling left/right neuronal asymmetry in Caenorhabditis elegans
Article Abstract:
Caenorhabditis elegans contains two morphologically bilateral taste receptor neurons that display a left/right asymmetrical expression pattern of putative chemoreceptor genes. An experiment that proves that a previously defined microDNA called lsy-6 controls this neuronal left/right asymmetry of chemosensory receptor expression is illustrated.

Transposon silencing in the Caenorhabditis elegans germ line by natural RNAi
Article Abstract:
The silencing of transposon in the Caenorhabditis elegans germ line by natural RNAi is highlighted. The ways in which RNAi causes transposon silencing in the nematode germ line are also presented.
