Male beetles attracted by females mounting
Article Abstract:
Observation of female beetles, Diaprepes abbreviatus, suggests that females mount other females to draw attention to themselves so that their opportunity of mating with large males is enhanced. Females which mate with larger males could have the advantage of acquiring materials from males during copulation and also attracting good genes.
