Mammalian Srb/Mediator complex is targeted by adenovirus E1A protein
Article Abstract:
Adenovirus E1A proteins stimulate cell cycling and viral transcription by interacting with critical cellular regulatory proteins. The E1A zinc-finger domain that is needed to activate transcription of viral early genes, is shown to bind to a host-cell multiprotein complex containing yeast Srb/Mediator protein homologues. The human Srb/Mediator complex responds to both the E1A zinc-finger and the herpes simplex virus VP15 activation domains, stimulating transcription in vitro.

Activation of heat-shock response by an adenovirus is essential for virus replication
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the activation of the cellular heat-shock responses which occur in proteins during the replicatation processes of viruses. The reasons for the responses are discussed.
