A Synthesis of Marine Conservation Planning Approaches

A comprehensive analysis is presented on 27 marine conservation plans, and a standard set of economic, ecological, institutional, and social elements are recommended for successful evaluation. Plans that succeeded tended to focus on biodiversity conservation.
