Multiple moulds

Article Abstract:

The genome sequences of three Aspergillus fungi that is, Aspergillus oryzae used in making the Japanese drink, the human pathogen, Aspergillus fumigatus, and the genetic model species Aspergillus nidulans are reported. The initial examination of the genomes and the sequences provides scope for further analysis, which provides broader perspective on the biology and evolution of these fungi.

Genomic sequence of the pathogenic and allergenic filamentous fungus Aspergillus fumigatus

Article Abstract:

Aspergillus fumigatus is exceptional among microorganisms in both a primary and opportunistic pathogen as well as a major allergen. The complete 29.4-megabase genome sequence of the clinical isolate Asperigillus fumigatus is showed, which consists of eight chromosomes containing 9,926 predicted genes.

Seeing double

Article Abstract:

A research on yeast species is done to identify the mechanisms behind genome evolution. Results indicate that the duplication of genes, larger chromosomal segments and whole genomes are the key mechanisms.
