Mutualism on the move

Article Abstract:

The concept of repeated game cannot be used as a model for the study of mutualism between different species because if any one of the individuals involved deviates from the normal behaviour, the repeating game ends. Thus, although common interest causes cooperation between the individuals, the trading of objects for different needs increases the cooperation between individuals of different species more than between those of the same species.

Reinforcement drives rapid allopatric speciation

Article Abstract:

Allopatric speciation results from geographic isolation between populations and reinforcing the natural selection on a population of one of the lineages in a mosaic contact zone could result in divergence of the population from the allopatric range of its own lineage, outside the zone. Thus it shows that there is potential for reinforcement to drive rapid allopatric speciation.

Why sex is good

Article Abstract:

Sexual reproduction makes natural selection more effective because it increases genetic variation. Sexual reproduction involves the marriage of genetic material from two parents to form progeny that transmit new combinations of paternal and maternal genes to their offspring.
