NMR evidence for excess non-bridging oxygen in an aluminosilicate glass

Article Abstract:

Nuclear magnetic resonance research suggests that non-bridging oxygen bonds (NBO) exist in glass made with aluminosilicate. Experiments using tectosilicate glass containing CaAl2Si2O8 reveal that NBOs exist in copious amounts. The presence of NBOs impact the diffusion mechanisms, flow and viscosity of the liquid glass. Further research is required to review high-temperature liquid properties.

External supply of oxygen to the atmospheres of the giant planets

Article Abstract:

Planetary research using infrared spectroscopy shows that gaseous water exists in the upper atmospheres of planets Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. External fluxes of ten(super five) - 10(super seven) water molecules per centimeter (super -2) per second (super -1) are observed. The ionosphere is impacted by gaseous water and infalling dust.
