Politic stem cells
Article Abstract:
Pluripotent stem-cell lines come from the most primitive cells in vertebrate development and their ability to make a range of functional cell types makes them crucial to the study of tissue development and degenerative diseases and they are considered to be promising as a possible treatment for such disorders. At present, creating pluripotent cells from a specified donor can only be achieved by a process called nuclear transfer (NT).

Deficiencies in DNA damage repair limit the function of haematopoietic stem cells with age
Article Abstract:
The DNA damage accrual is a physiological mechanism of stem cell ageing that leads to a diminished capacity of the aged tissues. The phenomenon can be proved by the fact that the deficiencies in DNA damage repair highly hinder the function of the haematopoietic stem cells with age.

Isolation and characterization of a protochordate histocompatibility locus
Article Abstract:
The isolation of a candidate gene encoding an immunoglobulin superfamily member that, by itself, predicts the outcome of histocompatibility reactions is described. Histocompatibility is the ability of an organism to distinguish its own cells and tissue from those of another.
