Article Abstract:

The authors discuss the study on word-recignition mechanism. The topics include the analysis of the neural mechanisms involved in pattern and object recognition, the efficiency of word recognition, and the word-recognition mechanism called template-matcher which integrates information over the stimulus.

Single synaptic vesicles fusing transiently and successively without loss of identity

Article Abstract:

The effect of vesicle fusion and recycling on small nerve terminals of brain is demonstrated. The reason for the loss of fluorescence, that suggest vesicular retention of membrane marker is detailed.

The remarkable inefficiency of word recognition

Research has been conducted on word recognition. The authors report that in identifying familiar English words the observers have the handicap which is predicted by recognition by parts.
