Predicting seed yield of moist-soil plants

Article Abstract:

Seed production estimates are important in ecological research, both applied and basic, as well as assessing wetland management and how far habitats can support waterfowl. The methodology of L.H. Fredrickson and M.K. Laubhan has been evaluated for Mississippi, using different variables. The results indicate predictor variables can be inconsistent, as can model site-specifity, and there is a need to develop a simpler way of predicting seed yield.

Influence of land use on postmetamorphic body size of Playa lake amphibians

Article Abstract:

Postmetamorphic body size of amphibians captured at Playa wetlands is measured to find the influence of land use. The findings indicate that agriculture land use may indirectly affect the body size of amphibians by altering the hydroperiods of nearby wetlands and influencing amphibian densities.

Effects of Agricultural Cultivation on Demographics of Southern High Plains Amphibians

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that agricultural cultivation adjacent to wetlands is linked to higher abundance of certain amphibian species, but other fitness and demographic parameters, such as diet diversity, body size, and temporal factors, may be negatively impacted.
