Promises to cleanup industry fail to convince

Article Abstract:

Members of the Asia-Pacific Partnership (AP6) on Clean Development and Climate promised to provide practical solutions to climate change, by driving industrial partnerships and encouraging new, cleaner technologies like low-emission technologies. Environmental groups are of the opinion that along with voluntary participation, emission targets, deadlines, more funding are required to further their cause.

Draft guidelines ease restrictions on use of genome sequence data

Article Abstract:

Guidelines say that reseachers investing time and energy on large-scale publicly funded genome-sequencing projects have to release their information as soon as possible, without setting constraints on the use of the data. This week, a draft revision to its policy regarding usage of data from large-scale genome projects was issued by the U.S. National Human Genome Research Institute.
