Remedies for windy camels

Article Abstract:

Camel husbandry has a long history in China and Peters and von den Dreisch have made an analysis of the origins of the two-humped Bactrian camel. It is suggested that the Bactrian and Arabian camels are different species with a separate ancestry. Records of domestic Bactrian camels from central and southern Asia in the third or fourth millennium BC were found to be unreliable and it is concluded that the earliest acceptable records are from Bronze Age sites in the Kopet Dagh foothills of Turkmenistan and northeastern Iran.
